Faces of a Queen

A collection of educational films, featuring influential cultural commentators, that discuss the Armada Portrait of Elizabeth I through a contemporary context. The films we produced featured prominent commentators making observations on symbolism and the contemporary relevance of these paintings.

The films featured an academic (Mary Beard), a super model (Eunice Olumide), a fashion designer (Daniel Lismore) and a Pearly Queen (The Pearly Queen of Royal Greenwich).

The Curious Bee

For this project we produced a series of animated episodes about the life of bees, both solitary and in colonies. The script broke down into detail the life cycle of bees and combined animated scenes with photography and archival footage to help contextualise the animated characters in the real world.

Max and his team bring incredible energy and creativity to every project they undertake, resulting in footage that’s fresh, vibrant and perfectly on-brand. I was especially impressed with their ability to quickly grasp the scope of a new project and to bring a true sense of storytelling to every facet of their work. They delivered a video that exceeded our expectations, and I can’t recommend them enough.”

Cody Light, Sotheby’s Institute of Art

  • “ I would highly recommend TMAX. Full of enthusiasm and creativity, their work for us has been exceptional.”

    Steven Gambardella, Imperial War Museums

  • “TMAX are a joy to work with. We are continually impressed by the imagination and creative flair they bring to our projects. We can always rely on the team to produce high-quality, engaging content for us which is fun and inspiring.”

  • “I’ve hired TMAX for numerous jobs, from 3D animation to straightforward film. Each time I've been blown away by the quality. Without fail, TMAX has taken our brief and produced something that exceeded our expectations.”

    Paul Foster, Saatchi & Saatchi

  • “Never Pay for the Farm — the lead single from Content, Gang of Four’s first album of all-new material since 1995, finds the English post-punk legends sounding as vital and sharp as they did in their late ’70s prime. This clip complements their bold, minimal arrangement with stylish footage of the band performing in a small club. It’s about as simple as music videos get, but it’s beautifully filmed and expertly conveys the quartet’s intensity as a live act.”

    Rolling Stone Magazine

  • “We have been working with TMAX for over 5 years now on various documentary style and animation videos. Their knowledge, expertise and approach to each project is always highly professional and inspired. During the filming phase they immerse themselves fully in each project, making the post-production stage very smooth and enabling them to produce a final video with a deep understanding of the message we are trying to get across. It is always a joy to collaborate with TMAX and we would highly recommend them to anyone.”

Sarah Hilliar, CABI (Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International)

  • “TMAX have transformed the way we deliver content to our audiences. For each project, no matter how ambitious they continue to deliver. They can translate the magic of what’s on stage into a neatly produced film. I’d like to think with each film they excite and inspire a new generation of opera audiences – That’s quite an achievement and I owe them a lot.”

    David Massey, Welsh National Opera

  • “@tmaxfilms You have been amazing!!!! Thank you so so much for all your incredible work. The films and photos you have produced for us have been fantastic.”

    Mark Down, Blind Summit Theatre

  • “Smart, savvy professionals, TMAX are great to work with - we are a repeat customer. They provide us with an end-to-end service from scripting and shooting to sourcing images, voiceover artists and delivering a high-quality final edit.”
